"Poppy Portrait IV" features two large blooms in blush and pale peach, their petals heavily textured in thick impasto layers that shift from warm cream at the center to deeper rose at the edges. A small closed seed pod on a slender stem rises at right, its minimal form a counterpoint to the full, open blooms beside it. The blue-grey background is cool and smooth, letting the dimensional texture of the petals read clearly.
