"No Cherished Outcome" captures the pure bliss of a child on a tire swing, head tilted back as gravity and momentum guide her through the air. A young girl in a coral-pink top and blue shorts holds the rope with complete trust, her long hair streaming as she surrenders to the rhythm of the swing. The background swirls with soft sage greens, peachy corals, and golden accents—an abstract forest canopy where ginkgo leaves (some adorned with real gold leaf, others sketched in pencil) dance across the composition. The words "I am no cherished outcome" appear throughout, echoing a line from the Celtic Prayer of Approach and celebrating that peaceful state of being where expectations dissolve into pure presence.
What would it feel like to release rigid expectations and embrace life with an open heart and no agenda? This painting invites us back to childhood's wisdom—that perfect moment of play where the only goal is the joy of swinging itself. The layered textures and warm, nature-inspired palette create a meditative quality that brings calm and lightness to any space. Perfect for bedrooms, meditation spaces, or family rooms where you want to inspire presence, celebrate playful freedom, and remember that sometimes the greatest gift we can give ourselves (and our children) is permission to simply be—fully, joyfully, without outcome.

About Original Artwork
Paint Media
Denise paints with archival quality acrylic paints including Golden Acrylic Paints and mediums as well as Nova Paints. There can be mixed media here and there such as charcoal, colored pencil and waxed crayon.
Substrate
Denise paints on cradled hardboard and gessoed canvas. Pieces that are 24x36 inches or smaller, are painted on cradled hardboard 1 inch to 1 1/2 inches deep with paint finished edges matching the overall color scheme of the painting.
Larger pieces on canvas are painted while tacked to a large hardboard frame. This way I can still sand away as much as I want with a hard surface backing the painting.
The painting is then removed and reframed on stretcher bars for a more lightweight finished artwork which is easier to ship and easier to hang.
Finish
All artwork have been finished with a clear gloss or semi gloss water-based acrylic polymer varnish with Ultra Violet Light Stabilizers [UVLS] that protects interior acrylic paintings from dust and ultraviolet light.
In the event that you hang your painting in the dining room and it get splattered with spaghetti sauce (believe me this can happen), the painting can be wiped clean to bring it back to it's intended design.
