"Golden Poppies on the Shoreline" sets warm, sunlit poppies against an open coastal view — a pale blue sky meeting turquoise sea, a narrow band of sand, and then the flowers rising in loose clusters of golden-orange with a scattering of small white daisies at their feet. The poppies are built up in thick, sculptural strokes, while the daisies are rendered with a lighter touch, their white petals catching small flecks of texture. Loose green grasses and stems thread through the foreground, grounding the scene against the open horizon behind it.

The panoramic 12x30 inch format and coastal palette make this a natural fit for entryways, above a console table, or any long wall that could use a breath of sun and sea. The warm gold and yellows play well against both crisp coastal interiors and warmer, earth-toned rooms. The painting is gallery-wrapped, so the imagery continues right around the edges — no frame needed, finished on all sides.

About Original Artwork

Paint Media

Denise paints with archival quality acrylic paints including Golden Acrylic Paints and mediums as well as Nova Paints. There can be mixed media here and there such as charcoal, colored pencil and waxed crayon.

Substrate

Denise paints on cradled hardboard and gessoed canvas. Pieces that are 24x36 inches or smaller, are painted on cradled hardboard 1 inch to 1 1/2 inches deep with paint finished edges matching the overall color scheme of the painting.

Larger pieces on canvas are painted while tacked to a large hardboard frame. This way I can still sand away as much as I want with a hard surface backing the painting.

The painting is then removed and reframed on stretcher bars for a more lightweight finished artwork which is easier to ship and easier to hang.

Finish

All artwork have been finished with a clear gloss or semi gloss water-based acrylic polymer varnish with Ultra Violet Light Stabilizers [UVLS] that protects interior acrylic paintings from dust and ultraviolet light.

In the event that you hang your painting in the dining room and it get splattered with spaghetti sauce (believe me this can happen), the painting can be wiped clean to bring it back to it's intended design.

Original artwork is usually shipped within 3-7 days from an order being received either by UPS or Fed Ex.

All original artwork are shipped from my studio in the Pacific Northwest. Each piece is packaged with care for a safe journey to your home.

For original artwork valued over $300 US dollars a signature is required upon delivery.
