"Juggling Subjects" is an original acrylic painting from my Educated Hoops series. It features a woman in a blue top, surrounded by a swirl of colorful hula hoops on a richly textured, abstract background. The layered brushwork and dynamic composition reflect a sense of chaos, motion, and introspection, capturing the complexity of navigating modern life.
This piece is a reflection on the world of education and the many people who hold it up—teachers, parents, principals, and students alike. There’s an ongoing juggling of priorities, pressures, and hopes, especially in today’s climate. I painted this with deep empathy for the energy, resilience, and heart that these individuals bring to their roles every day.

About Original Artwork
Paint Media
Denise paints with archival quality acrylic paints including Golden Acrylic Paints and mediums as well as Nova Paints. There can be mixed media here and there such as charcoal, colored pencil and waxed crayon.
Substrate
Denise paints on cradled hardboard and gessoed canvas. Pieces that are 24x36 inches or smaller, are painted on cradled hardboard 1 inch to 1 1/2 inches deep with paint finished edges matching the overall color scheme of the painting.
Larger pieces on canvas are painted while tacked to a large hardboard frame. This way I can still sand away as much as I want with a hard surface backing the painting.
The painting is then removed and reframed on stretcher bars for a more lightweight finished artwork which is easier to ship and easier to hang.
Finish
All artwork have been finished with a clear gloss or semi gloss water-based acrylic polymer varnish with Ultra Violet Light Stabilizers [UVLS] that protects interior acrylic paintings from dust and ultraviolet light.
In the event that you hang your painting in the dining room and it get splattered with spaghetti sauce (believe me this can happen), the painting can be wiped clean to bring it back to it's intended design.
